This whole thing with Laverne and reading the Synthia’s letter has me upset. TERFs will do absolutely anything to tear down trans women of color. to keep us isolated and oppressed. Y’all, the prison-industrial complex is not about justice! It is not about “putting away the bad guys”. Its about profit and the ownership of Black and brown bodies.
We are criminalized just for existing. Like that is all we have to do in order to be arrested or harassed. The whole basis for criminalization is that we don’t actually have to do anything in order to be considered criminal. So like, we will never actually tell what Synthia did or didn’t do but the system is set up to be a criminal regardless of what she does.
Prisons need to be abolished. That’s it. They should not exist because they are violent places that do nothing but tear communities apart and trauamatize people. There need to be other ways to deal with people who hurt others. Prisons are not the answer.
But obviously, prisons are not gonna go away anytime soon so in the mean time, trans women deserve to get the care they need. ALL TRANS WOMEN. Not just “innocent” trans women. If the most vulnerable among us isn’t getting the care they need, than no one is. If you think that only “innocent” trans women deserve to be treated with dignity and respect than you don’t really care about trans women. Actual Innocence or guilt is immaterial in this conversation. What matters is that we live in a world that see us as guilty regardless.
The bodies of trans women of color is an active threat to colonial patriarchy. We are subvert everything that is right in their world view. Trans women of color in particular are always being accused of assault because our very existence is an affront to colonial ways of being. From bathroom panic, to cis queer women saying that they would be “triggered” by the potential of interacting with us sexually, to cis men saying that we “tricked” them into sex, cis people can’t help but see us as aggressive and assaulting because we make everything they believe completely topsy turvy. Our bodies are anathema. And this very specifically a product of the colonial gender system that has been trying to stamp us out since contact.
Lets also get one thing straight, TERFs are using the life and death of Ebony Nicole Williams as a tool to tear down trans women of color. They don’t actually give a shit about her. If they actually cared, they would be talking about the 64,000 missing Black women, the police brutality that Black women face and the myriad other ways this world shits on Black women. TERFs have a vested interesting in maintaining the carceral state. And this is just another manifestation of that.
I cannot stress this enough, none of this is actually about guilt or innocence. Its about the continued extermination of trans women of color, of all trans femmes who exist in opposition to the colonial gender binary. Its about the state continually trying to own the bodies of trans women of color and women of color more generally. Its about making sure that we are all killed or locked away for the safety of “society”
Don’t let TERFs fool you into thinking this is anything but ensuring that (trans) women are controlled and abused.

Just read through ALL of this…these people are INCREDIBLY organized and have collected almost every piece of information out - and they are asking some amazing questions.
"Thank you so much for your generous offer and support of the Ferguson Police Department.
The only charity that the officer has endorsed so far is through the Shield of Hope Foundation of the Fraternal Order of Police. Checks may be made payable to:
Shield of Hope
9620 Lackland Rd
St. Louis, MO 63114
In the memo line, please put “Officer D. Wilson Fund” and every dime collected will go directly to him.
Again, thank you for your support.
P.O. Tim Zoll
Public Affairs Officer
Ferguson Police Department
222 S. Florissant Rd.
Ferguson, MO 63135
Description: Small Ferg Patch 2012 “
Yeah, the “Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 15 Charitable Foundation” name is listed in Missouri’s corporations database as the previous name of the Shield of Hope I linked above.
So the FPD’s public affairs officer, in his official capacity and using his city-provided email, is fund-raising for the defense of an alleged murderer.
Man, this civil rights complaint is going to write itself!
Ok, Tax ID is registered with IRS, and leads to the SLFOP, Lodge 68.
So, the St. Louis cops are raising money for Officer Wilson, and doing it under wraps so it’s not obvious that they’re doing it, rather than just coming right out and saying it, they’re doing it under a community service charity.
For the link-phobic or in case this gets taken down.
